AAR-O-VENT AIR AND DIRT SEPARATOR

Description

Thrush Co., Inc. features the Aar-O-Vent™ (patent pending) high performance air and dirt separator for corrosion protection and increased performance in hydronic piping systems.  The Aar-O-Vent uses a stainless steel coalescing filter medium to separate the air and dirt from the water in these systems that can cause damage to pumps, seals, and valves.  The stainless steel construction provides durability and long service life.  Other features include a gauge tap on the inlet and outlet connections, a removable bottom cover for cleaning the coalescing medium and a blow down valve for flushing collected sediment.  Available sizes for this separator range from 1 1/2” to 24”, and larger.
The Thrush Model 720 High Capacity Air Eliminator provides the air elimination for this unit and will not allow air back into the system even if a vacuum occurs.  Third party testing by an independent laboratory found that the Aar-O-Vent consistently removes over 99.7% of the dissolved oxygen content in a closed piping system and removal percentages nearing 100.0% will be achieved after sufficient time.
In the Aar-O-Vent dirt separator, dirt particles are removed and drop to the bottom sediment collection area, out of the flow path, and are easily removed by opening the blow down valve.  Third party testing also concluded that the dirt separation portion of the unit can remove 89% of the dirt particles in the 17 to 65 micron size range in as few as 50 system cycles, and with enough cycles can remove up to 99% of these particles.
