Convenient Tough Epoxy for General Purpose

Description

A high strength, two component, epoxy adhesive for general purpose bonding called EP21-LVLP has been introduced by Master Bond, Inc. Hackensack, NJ. Unlike many other epoxy adhesives, EP21-LVLP is relatively insensitive to mixing ratio or substrate cleaning procedures. It readily develops a high bonding strength of more than 3100 psi (217 Kg/cm²) at room temperature.  Formulated to cure at room temperature or more rapidly at elevated temperatures, e.g. 10 minutes at 150°C (300°F), it features relatively low viscosity and a long pot life for easy application.

EP21-LVLP produces durable high strength and tough bonds which are remarkably resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals including water, oil, and most organic solvents, over the temperature range of -50°C (-60°F) to more than 120°C (250°F). Adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, wood, vulcanized rubbers, and many plastics is excellent. The hardened adhesive is an electrical insulator. EP21-LVLP adhesive is suggested for use in demanding applications in the electronic, electrical, computer, construction, metalworking, appliance, automotive and chemical industries. The cured adhesive fully meets the requirements of MIL-A-81236 (OS), MMM-A-134 Type 1
