Irvine, CA, June 26, 2006 – The ARK-7480 is a high performance and robust application ready embedded box computer supporting UFCPGA2, 478-pin embedded Intel® Pentium® 4 or Celeron® D Processors up to 2.8 GHz, an Intel® 852GME chipset with Graphics Memory Controller Hub (GMCH) and Intel® 82801DB I/O Controller Hub 4 (ICH4). With three PCI expansion slots, dual Fast Ethernet (optional GbE), six USB 2.0 ports, six COM ports, as well as DVI, LVDS and VGA display interface and a drive bay for a 3.5" HDD (optional 2nd 3.5 HDD space), CompactFlash socket, miniPCI and an optional expansion drive bay for a CDROM, card reader or other peripherals, it is ideal for diverse embedded system applications requiring the highest processor performance and expansion capability. The ARK-7480 offers a truly unique combination of power, rugged reliability and size that makes it great to build applications around.

Versatile Stand-Alone or Integrated Embedded Solution
The 295 mm x 180 mm x 260 mm sized cast aluminum chassis allows the ARK-7480 to not only offer scalable CPU performance and flexible I/O expansion (customization support available), but its smart, cableless, modular design makes setup, mounting, and maintenance more efficient and flexible. One side of the ARK-7480 gives easy access to all connectors plus allows for easier horizontal or vertical mounting. The chassis and vibration-resistant construction feature anti-vibration card holders for PCI I/O expansion cards as well as HDD cushions allowing the system to provide up to 1G vibration/10 G shock protection. This means the ARK-7480 can handle applications such as machine automation, can be easily integrated in industrial environments or control cabinets, support gaming, ATM, Kiosks and more.

The ARK-7480’s six USB 2.0 ports support USB peripherals such as storage subsystems, security ID devices, card readers, bar code scanners, multifunction printers and scanners used directly or shared among users via a network. The ARK-7480 is equipped with dual fast Ethernet and six serial ports, including one RS-232/422/485 serial port and five RS-232 serial ports that enable communication and control at the field level for measurement and operator control.

Strong Graphics and Intel Embedded Architecture
Part of Intel’s comprehensive embedded long life cycle support for added peace of mind, the integrated Intel 852GME controller utilizes Intel Extreme Graphics 2 technology with Display Memory Optimized Shared Memory Architecture with 64 MB frame buffer support using system memory and has dual independent display support as well as built-in CRT/VGA and DVI interfaces compliant with DVI specification 1.0 with support for 36-bit (48-bit optional) LVDS Interface. Resolutions up to 2048 x1536 @ 24 bpp (75 Hz) are supported. A built-in 1U ATX 250W Input 110~240V power input is included.
