Energy-efficient Bearing

Description

Two new types of SKF® energy efficient (E2) bearings have been introduced as part of a growing family of bearing solutions generating significantly less friction and energy consumption. The new E2 spherical and cylindrical roller bearings join the first energy-efficient types previously launched (tapered roller bearings and deep groove ball bearings). The technology ultimately will roll out across most bearing types. Typical applications for these E2 bearings include industrial ventilation fans (spherical roller) and industrial and wind energy transmissions (cylindrical roller), among others. All E2 bearings exhibit at least 30 percent in reduced friction compared with standard versions and offer energy savings, lower bearing operating temperatures, less noise, and enhanced lubrication conditions to promote extended bearing service and life. A special SKF energy-efficient grease developed exclusively for all E2 class bearings works in combination with the bearings to deliver the optimized performance advantages. The bearings additionally benefit from highly engineered internal geometries, unique polymer cages, precision design modifications, and proprietary manufacturing techniques. They are available in a range of sizes, allow for interchangeability with conventional counterparts to accommodate existing design envelopes, and are manufactured in accordance with ISO standards.
