Expanded Semiconductor Offering Now Includes Microchip Technology


Fort Worth, Texas – Allied Electronics, a subsidiary of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), has expanded its product offering of semiconductors to include the complete line of products from Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP), a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors.

Allied’s parent company, Electrocomponents, recently signed a global distribution agreement with Microchip. The agreement includes distribution of Microchip’s entire range of semiconductors and development tools throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Japan via Electrocomponents’ global operating companies, including Allied.

“Allied is excited to add Microchip to our growing list of world-class suppliers,” said Lee Davidson, president of Allied. “We are also pleased to offer our customers quick and easy access to Microchip’s industry-leading semiconductors and development tools.”

Microchip products are available on the Allied web site and are planned to be featured in the 2007 Allied catalog—due out in October.
