Faster CNC Milling

Description

Tormach Inc., the industry’s leading supplier of affordable, PCNC (Personal CNC) Milling Machines, has introduced its latest CNC Mills, the 1100M and 770M.  The M series represents a ground-up rethinking of all aspects of the company’s best-selling 1100 and 770 mills, incorporating over two years of upgrades, optimization, and customer feedback.

At the upcoming IMTS 2018 show in Chicago (McCormick Place, September 10-15), where Tormach will be exhibiting for the first time, the company will have its new 1100M operating in its booth (Booth No. 432488).

In addition, on Sunday, September 9th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. (the day before IMTS opens), Tormach will co-host a Manufacturing Internship Summit with John Saunders at M-HUB Chicago (https://mhubchicago.com/event/nyccnc).  The new 1100M and 770M machines will be featured at this event, which is open to the public.  More details will be forthcoming.

The new 1100M and 770M machines have numerous improvements including:

  • Newly-designed enclosure and stand for better chip evacuation
  • More robust spindle drives (1.5 HP for the 770M, and 2HP for the 1100M)
  • Ethernet-based control system for improved diagnostics
  • Plug-and-play accessories for easy installation
  • 1100M has increased Y-travel and a faster spindle (7,500 rpm) for improved cutting performance

The 770M and 1100M have the power to cut the toughest materials – stainless steel, titanium and even pre-hardened tool steel.

Tormach has released two new videos on the new machines. These can be viewed on Tormach’s website www.tormach.com, or on YouTube.

Tormach plans to introduce servo-driven versions of these two mills, the 770MX and 1100MX, in winter 2018. The MX series of machines will add an encoder to the spindle for rigid tapping, a BT-30 spindle, and servos for the X, Y, and Z axes.
