Fuses offer High Current Circuit Protection in Compact Size

Description

In response to the demand for reduced fuel consumption, more electrical components have been designed with space and weight savings in mind.   MIDI fuses are a high current circuit protection option in a compact size. They are under 1 ¾ inches in length and 1/3 of an  inch thick. Their bolt-down design is similar to AMG or MEGA style fuses, but MIDI fuses are nearly an inch shorter in length, making them an ideal space and weight saver. They are available in ratings of 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 100, 125, 150 and 200 amps at 32 volts DC.

The bolt-down design of the MIDI fuse, with copper terminals, guarantees a reliable, low-resistance connection. With this design, you can maintain significantly more pressure than a blade contact. Higher pressure assures less resistance. The bolts also help maintain the connection during vibrations that may shake another type of device loose.

Wires need to be protected from thermal damage caused by current overloads. MIDI Fuses have slow-blow characteristics that allow high inrush currents without opening the fuse. MIDI’s slow-blow design is made possible by a manufacturing process called Diffusion Pill technology. It allows for low energy dissipation coupled with desired time delay by introducing a small tin pellet to lower the melt temperature.
