Introduces ESE Terminal Blocks

Description

Molex (NASDAQ: MOLX and MOLXA) recently introduced the ESE Terminal Blocks to offer design engineers a large amount of flexibility. This new line of Eurostyle™ PCB terminal blocks includes more than 50 designs or housing styles of plugs, headers and fixed terminal blocks that are fully RoHS compliant.

Available in 4 pitches from 3.50 to 5.08mm (.138 to .197”), the ESE PCB Terminal Block family is well-suited for a variety of applications including: control systems, computer interfaces, factory and process automation equipment, HVAC applications, medical equipment, security systems, data acquisition and professional audio-video systems.

The ESE PCB Terminal Blocks are offered in multiple styles for maximum design flexibility. The ESE Terminal Blocks are available in either fixed (single-piece), or pluggable (two-piece) styles.

They are rated at 300V and 8.0-15.0A and support up to 12 AWG wire. The 3.50 and 3.81mm (.138 and .150”) pitch are offered in circuit sizes from 2-20. In the 5.00 and 5.08mm (.197 and .200”) pitch, circuit sizes range from 2-48. The added range is provided via dual-row headers. To help designers meet their board layout requirements, the ESE product line provides three different wire angles to determine the best fit for their specific application, including vertical, horizontal and a 45 degree angle option.

“With multiple styles, 4 different pitch sizes and 3 different wire entry angles, the ESE PCB Terminal Blocks provide design engineers a wide array of options to fit their specific needs,” said Mark Wuolle, product manager, Molex. “By expanding our Eurostyle terminal block offering we are providing customers with flexible and reliable solutions for their interconnection needs.”

Additional features include high temperature housings, gold contact plating, and imprinting. The Surface Mount Compatible (SMC) terminal block headers are specifically designed to withstand reflow soldering temperatures and eliminate the need for a secondary wave-soldering process. The gold plating option increases connection reliability in applications where there is corrosion or low-energy levels and dry-circuits.

The ESE PCB Terminal Blocks are available now for sampling and production orders. Lead time ranges from 2 to 12 weeks, depending on housing style and circuit size. Pricing for plug and header combinations in quantities of 1000 mated circuits starts at $140. OEM volume discounts are available. Contact your distributor or Molex for additional information.
