New Online Design Guide Offers RoHS Equivalent Part

Description

With the July 2006 RoHS deadline rapidly approaching, Mill-Max Mfg. Corp. has expanded its online Design Guide to include RoHS equivalent parts for virtually all its products.

To offer RoHS compliant products, Mill-Max had to eliminate the lead component in tin/lead plating. The new Design Guide offers gold and new pure matte tin plating as RoHS alternatives to tin/lead finish.

In addition, because RoHS products will be used in “lead-free” soldering processes at typically 30ºC higher temperatures than traditional tin/lead processes; all RoHS products will be supplied with a high temperature plastic insulator.

The Design Guide continues to offer “legacy” tin/lead plated products for those customers (Military, Aerospace, and Telecommunications) who are exempted from RoHS regulation. The Design Guide uses distinct part numbers for RoHS compliant products.

This new Design Guide is also available on CD-Rom.
