New print registration option for shrink wrappers hits the mark with accuracy and low cost

Description

Lantech takes complexity and cost out of print registration for shrink-wrapped packages with its new On-Time Registration (OTR) system. OTR hits the mark with accuracy and low cost, registering every package without the need for sophisticated electromechanical components, such as speed variators. The system costs less than $2000 and is available as an OEM option or retrofit for all Lantech shrink packaging systems, including side-seal, lap seal, continuous-motion and intermittent motion machines.

On-Time Registration provides exceptional accuracy for each package by eliminating the need to match product position with a film registration mark "on the fly." "Traditional systems sense the film dot and the respective position of the package, then try to vary the speed of each to achieve registration," explains Bruce Campbell, Shrink Systems Product Manager for Lantech. "On-Time Registration works by first sensing the mark on the film, and then quickly indexing the package into position. This process is repeated for each package, so there's no cumulative error. OTR eliminates the need for special control logic, algorithms, multiple sensors and electromechanical complexity."

Lantech's packaging and productivity solutions include semiautomatic and automatic stretch wrapping; automatic case handling; automatic palletizing; shrink packaging and pallet-load conveying systems. Lantech is the originator of stretch wrapping technology and world's largest manufacturer, with 55,000 systems placed around the world.
