New Silicone Elastomer Offers Fast Cure In Thin Films


One component silicone elastomer compound MasterSil 711 has been introduced by Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, N.J. for bonding, sealing, protective coatings and formed-in-place gaskets. This compound cures at ambient temperatures to a flexible rubbery solid when exposed to atmospheric moisture. It is easy to apply and is self leveling. MasterSil 711 has a broad service operating temperature range of from -75°F to +400°F. It features superior electrical insulation properties and protection from exposure to vibration, impact and shock.

Master Bond MasterSil 711 is a non-corrosive system. Adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, most rubbers and plastics is superb. It has a Shore A hardness of 30 and an elongation of 400%. Its tensile strength is 400 psi. Additionally, it has a dielectric strength of 500 volts/mil and a volume resistivity of 1 x1015 ohm cm. Tack free time at room temperature is 2-3 minutes.
