New SingleTech Combi Total Lock Swivel Casters


The Revvo Caster Company, Inc., West Seneca, New York announces the introduction of its new SingleTech Combi total lock swivel casters. Available in 12 single-wheel models, the new Revvo caster range is designed for medical equipment, hospital beds and stretchers, appliances, furniture, retail displays, and for other applications requiring dependable performance combined with design style, Revvo Caster states. They are available with a fully-enclosed, positive mechanical brake and locking system for when all casters in a combination set need to be locked simultaneously.
Featuring soft, streamlined contours, SingleTech Combi casters are constructed of lightweight, pressure-diecast aluminum shells and are engineered to provide perfect tracking down long corridors, according to Revvo. The total lock progressive brake mechanism allows the wheels to swivel and rotate freely when in the “off” position, and will prevent swiveling and rotation when in the “on” position. The central locking mechanism can be locked in three distinct positions, providing free swiveling, swivel locked with wheel free, and total locking of both wheels and swivel. The locking system uses complementary metal teeth on the wheel hub and swivel pin and does not cause the wear on brake pads and tire surfaces common to conventional friction brakes, the company states.
Revvo states that the new SingleTech Combi swivel casters are available in four total lock and eight total and directional lock models with load capacities ranging from 198 to 330 lbs. (A black capsule distinguishes the total lock models; blue for total and directional lock.) Models with 5” and 6” wheel diameters are offered with overall heights of 168mm and 190mm respectively. Swivel radii for the 5” casters are 104mm and 124mm for the 6” models. Standard wheel materials include gray polyurethane and gray rubber. A variety of options are available including: “gold seal” washable casters, “D” cam mounting, color finishes (White RAL 9000 is standard), and electrically conductive tires.
