It can be easily integrated into the body of manufacturing machinery with multistage cartridges, making maximum use of energy by eliminating line losses and inefficiencies. Even with the ultimate decentralized vacuum solution in place, companies can further reduce energy expenditures with highly reliable control systems. PIAB has developed solutions like the Atmospheric Quick-Release valve (AQR) and the Vacustat. The AQR does not consume any additional compressed air in order to release a part. It acts like a traditional quick-release valve, but uses the ambient atmospheric pressure as its energy source. The Vacustat is a vacuum controlled air-saving device. It minimizes the consumption of compressed air to almost nothing for an air-driven pump in a sealed system. Using less air for an extremely reliable grip means huge energy reductions. Finally, choosing the best suction cup for an application can result in a more secure grip with less air leakage. For example, the unique dual-hardness of DURAFLEX® suction cups make them ideally suited for applications where micro-leakage can occur, such as corrugated cardboard handling. With both the strength and flexibility needed to seal uneven or coarse surfaces, less air is wasted. The appropriate suction cup can also more directly reduce the use of energy. In some applications, using a larger suction cup maximizes lifting force and allows for work at lower vacuum pressures.
