‘SPIROSTORE’ FLEXIBLE SILOS

Description

Spiroflow Systems, Inc. has introduced a new, economic range of flexible silos that provide tailor-made solutions for quick, efficient and safe storing of bulk solids and ingredients in most industries. Unlike steel or aluminum silos, the new ‘Spirostore’ Flexible Silos are made of a robust, durable and yet flexible polyester fabric supported on a steel frame. The silos can store up to 7,000 ft3 of dry bulk material and support weights up to 90,000 lbs. The flexible silos are manufactured like a custom-made suit in terms of shape, size and the type of polyester fabric selected. These are adapted to suit each customer’s specific requirements in terms of space available, exact product specifications and how the product should be discharged. According to Spiroflow Systems, no other bulk solids storage system can match the flexibility of flexible silos. The silos are suitable for almost any indoor or other weatherproof location and can be connected to any type of Spiroflow Flexible Screw, Aero Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Vacuum Conveyor Systems to fill and/or empty the stored material. ‘Spirostore’ Flexible Silos are ideal for use in the plastics, recycling industry, chemical, pharmaceutical as well as sectors of the food, animal feed and sweets industry. Materials that can be stored are equally varied and range from trouble-free peas and polystyrene balls to interlocking materials such as baking flour, color pigments and clumping materials such as tea leaves, fiberglass and shredded wool. “Spirostore Flexible Silos allow our customers to quickly and economically expand their storage capability of bulk solids material in a way no other silo can,” confirms Michael Podevyn, President and CEO of Spiroflow Systems. “That’s one of the main reasons why these type of silos are generating so much interest. The silos are about one third the cost of a steel silo with similar capacity, are lightweight and are very easy and fast to install. They are delivered ‘flat –pack’ making it possible to pass through regular doorways and take up a minimum amount of space.” ‘Spirostore’ Flexible Silos Detailed Customizing a ‘Spirostore’ Flexible Silo involves determining how much space is available to erect the system, selecting the type of polyester fabric that meets space and product requirements and selecting from a multitude of possible variations in the outlet area for safe and efficient discharge of the material. The ‘Spirostore’ Flexible Silos optimize the use of space due to its square or rectangular versus cylindrical dimensions that are common for many other types of silos. This allows easy placement of the silos in tight fit areas and also allows assembly in locations normally deemed inaccessible. The silo also precisely adapts to space height requirements for added flexibility. The lightweight design of the silos also means that no complex foundations are required to support the system. The main part of the ‘Spirostore’ Flexible Silos is the high strength, durable polyester fabric supported by a steel frame. The fabric is custom designed to meet the exact characteristics of the customers’ product and to maximize the storage capacity in the available space. A variety of other fabric options are available to meet product requirements. These include a breathable fabric that prevents condensation, air-tight versions, coated and uncoated versions, fabrics for use in food applications, electrically conducting versions for safe discharge of electrostatic charges plus numerous others.
