VARIABLE AREA FLOWMETERS FOR CORROSIVE LIQUIDS AND BRINES

Description

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. offers plastic variable area flowmeters that are cost-effective workhorses for corrosive liquids, certain chemicals, seawater, deionized water, acids, caustics and plating solutions. These flowmeters feature corrosion-resistant construction materials specifically selected for the application. The meter housings are PVC, polysulfone or Tefzel® ETFE. Wetted internal parts and optional end fittings are 316 stainless steel, titanium, tantalum, monel or Hastelloy C. Seals are Buna N, EPR, Viton® fluoroelastomer or Kalrez® perfluoroelastomer. All MX Series corrosion-resistant flowmeters are preconfigured for applications as shown on www.flowmeters.com, the company’s website. This preconfiguration eliminates the need for compatibility charts. Each meter is individually calibrated for fluids with the viscosity (up to 3000 SSU/650 centipoise) specified by the customer. Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. also compensates for the fluid’s specific gravity. Meters in the MX Series are designed to measure and monitor flows up to 160 GPM (600 LPM). The meters provide local indication of flow rate and are available with a 4-20 mA transmitter for remote readout, recording or data logging. Options include cost-effective alarm systems for immediate notification if flow goes too low. MX Series corrosion-resistant flowmeters are easy to install, operate and maintain. They mount in line and in any orientation, with no straight pipe runs required. The all-mechanical sensing system directly drives the pointer and remote signaling devices. Line connections can be made into a variety of corrosion-resistant port adapters. The meters are CSA certified and are available with CE marked switches and NIST Traceable calibration certification.
