Versatile Elevating Mast Platform
Description
The Model 1230ES elevating mast platform is being introduced by JLG Industries, Inc. It is a new addition to JLG’s Pro-Fit® family of electric powered aerial work platforms with features for quickly lifting electricians, workers involved in maintenance work as well as all types of interior work including pipe fitters, HVAC contractors, and sprinkler installers. Production is slated for the early spring of 2007. It has a 12-ft. platform height, and a 500- lb. platform capacity, stows to 30-in. wide by 65 1/4-in. high and weighs 1,740 lbs. so it can easily be moved in most freight elevators and maneuvered through confined areas with an inside turning radius of only 5 inches. Energy saving electric motors on the front wheels provide up to three times the number of duty cycles versus competitive models and can propel the machine up to 3 mph. A multi-stage hydraulic cylinder provides the power to lift or lower the platform from full height in just 12 seconds. It is a heavy-duty component designed for a minimum of 30,000 lift cycles before repacking. The hydraulic system consists of only four hoses to eliminate almost all fluid leaks. The steel three-section lifting mast is powered by the multi-stage cylinder and considered to be maintenance free since there are no chains, cables or rollers to adjust. Operator features on the Model 1230ES include fully proportional lift and drive using a single joystick, a removable control panel with the same layout as JLG’s Pro-Fit scissor lifts, a low 22-in. step-in height to the platform and a saloon-style swinging gate for easier entry and exit.
