Air-Conditioned Cases

WARMINSTER, Pa. (May 1, 2006) – EIC Solutions Inc. has introduced a new line of air conditioned transit cases (patent pending) designed to safely transport, protect and cool electronics.

A built-in thermoelectric air conditioner provides the cooling needed to maintain safe temperatures within the cases for instruments, computers, telecommunications equipment, terminals, surveillance devices and other specialty electronics in the harshest environments.

“This innovative product line was developed to help companies maintain equipment functionality in our increasingly mobile world by keeping their electronics cool and protected,” said Bruce Blackway, EIC Solutions national sales manager. “The design combines our thermoelectric air conditioners with a durable, stackable, lightweight, portable transit case, suitable for use in a tremendous variety of military, defense and industrial applications.”

EIC offers impact- and corrosion-resistant cases in various sizes, colors and types, including 19” rack-mount styles, clamshell designs and custom configurations. Air conditioned transit cases are available in aluminum, TSC/fiberglass, rotomolded polyethylene and injection molded ABS materials. Standard features include hinged or removable covers and lifting/carrying handles. Select models meet stringent MIL STDS. The built-in 200, 400, 800 or 1500 BTU thermoelectric air conditioners are available in NEMA 12 or 4X configurations for indoor or outdoor use. Air conditioners operate on AC, DC or AC/DC power and are mounted in or on the case. With no compressors, refrigerants or filters, the air conditioners offer long term, maintenance-free operation. Thermoelectric air conditioners also have no air exchange between the ambient environment and the air within the transit case, resulting in complete protection for sensitive electronics.

Optional equipment available for the cases includes cable exit ports, locking latches, casters, shelves, insulation, RF/EMI protection, desiccant material and custom colors. Air conditioners also are available with optional heating capability, rain shrouds, condensate drip pans, through-mount or flush-mount configurations, vertical or horizontal mounting orientations, high temperature alarms, digital temperature controllers and fan/filter assemblies.
