MC Luminary MultiZone Cables Reduce Energy and Power Consumption

Description

Daylight harvesting reduces energy consumption by using daylight in place of artificial lighting to illuminate a space. To boost energy efficiency, lighting control systems are used to automatically adjust electric lighting in response to changing daylight availability. MC Luminary MultiZone Cables by AFC Cable Systems are the first product designed specifically for use in daylight harvesting applications, enabling energy savings and reduced power costs by dimming lights proportionally to the availability of natural light.

MC Luminary MultiZone Cables are compliant with all applicable codes and UL standards, compatible with 0-10 volt DC solid-state lighting control systems, and digital-signal-compatible. With control for up to three dimming zones, these cables also comply with non-residential indoor lighting requirements contained in the California Title 24 Energy Efficiency Standards for Residential and Nonresidential Buildings.

Unlike wireless controls that use radio frequency or Wi-Fi to control dimming, MC Luminary MultiZone offers a secure hardwired system that eliminates any potential concerns about unauthorized network intrusion.

MC Luminary MultiZone Cables were named the 2017 Product of the Year by Electrical Construction and Maintenance Magazine (EC&M) in the Wire & Cable Category. Winners were selected by a panel of judges representing electrical professionals from engineering, contractor, and plant facility and maintained industries.

By combining all required conductors and phases under a single interlocked armor, MC Luminary MultiZone can replace up to six individual cable runs, increasing productivity and reducing costs.
