How does a diaphragm pump work? It has two membranes or diaphragms. These flex and relax in a coordinated fashion, opening and closing the exhaust valve and the suction valve rhythmically, and in this way constantly move media along. The diaphragms are coated with special plastics. These protect them and so allows the pump to work with corrosive gases and liquids. Moreover, a diaphragm pump's drive space is hermetically sealed. This protects its internal components. Additionally, with no sliding parts, this pump is free of abrasion.
