New Ultra Compact Precision Positioning System
Description
Steinmeyer, Inc. announced a new ultra compact precision positioning stage model MT63 – DC. Available in single or three axis XYZ configuration, this table offers a sleek low profile design with a standard travel of 25 mm. The overall height of the single axis MT63 – DC is only 25.5 mm with straightness/flatness runout of 3 microns. A runout of just 1 micron is available on special request. Included inside this compact design is the drive mechanism - a precision preloaded miniature lead screw with 0.5 mm pitch coupled to a dc motor with rotary encoder. Manufactured from high strength anodized aluminum the single axis table weighs just 0.5 kg, yet can handle loads to 20 Newtons. It offers a positional accuracy of 5 µm and repeatability of 1 µm.
The standard stage includes backlash free preloaded miniature slides for precise linear guidance, non-contact limit switches and a 63 mm square footprint. Options include preparation for cleanroom and vacuum compatibility, different encoder resolutions and different screw pitches for higher speeds. The compact three axis version is model MP63 – 25 – DC. Its overall dimensions (with all axes centered) are 63 x 63 x 111 mm.
