The 15.1" anti-reflective TFT display with the optional sunlight readable LCD uses a special screen treatment that makes the display 50% to 75% more viewable in direct sunlight (see photo). This sets it apart from the competition using transmissive display technology. The optional external touch screen creates an intuitive user interface without creating glare for the maximum brightness throughput.
The Black Hawk is powered by an Intel Pentium M 1.6 GB to 2.1 GB processors and is available with an assortment of accessories including car mount options for emergency vehicle applications. Black Hawk connectivity includes a built-in 802.11b/g wireless LAN, 10/100 Base-T port, Internal Mini PCI, and a 56K V.90 fax modem. Operating on either AC (100-240V, 50/60Hz) or internal 4.5-hour battery, the Black Hawk performs reliably in temperatures from 40 degrees to 98 degrees Fahrenheit and stores safely from minus 4 degrees to 140 degrees. Loaded with Windows® XP, Rugged Notebooks will customize the unit with other applications e.g., LabView® and GPS Locator, and provides logistics and maintenance support. Cradled in a magnesium alloy case, the Intel Dothan 730 processor can be supported with up to 2GB of DIMM RAM and up to 224MB shared video memory with Intel GMA 900 (integrated in Core Logic Chip) 2D3D video graphic accelerator for multimedia. The unit has one PCMCIA type II card socket and a field-changeable optical media drive slot available with either a DVD/CD-RW or DVD-R/CD-RW/DVD-+RW (DVD Dual) drive. The spill-proof keyboard is standard with a built-in touch pad with two buttons and support for R/L/roller. The shock-mounted removable hard drive allows secure use by multiple parties. I/O includes three USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 Port, one 15-pin D-sub connector for external monitor, mini-jacks for external speaker and microphone, an S-Video port for TV, and jacks for SPDIF, RS232, DC-In, and a printer/PS 2/IR/Kingston lock hole. The unit is certified to meet CUL; EU; FCC and UL requirements.
