Studio System 2 for Office 3D Printing

Description

Studio System 2 provides a simplified, office-friendly, metal 3D printing technology that offers customers the easiest way to print metal parts in low volumes for pre-production and end-use applications through Bound Metal Deposition (BMD) technology. Originally consisting of a printer, debinder, and furnace—this next-generation version retains all the features of the original system while making 3D metal printing easier, more reliable, and accessible.

With an easier two-step process, Studio System 2 eliminates the use of solvents with material formulations that allow parts to be transferred directly from the printer into the furnace for a nearly hands-free experience that also reduces consumables usage and footprint. The printer minimizes the trial and error through new print profiles and a re-engineered interface layer material for more even shrinkage during sintering and increased part success across many geometries. The heated build chamber and print profiles produce a better surface finish right out of the furnace across sidewalls and support-facing surfaces while isotropic TMPS infill creates strong parts. Vacuum sintering in the furnace at temperatures of up to 2,552°F (1,400°C) produces parts and mechanical properties akin to castings and meet or exceed Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) standards.

The Studio System 2 comes with 316L stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant and general-purpose material for applications such as manifolds, nozzles, brackets, latches, and jewelry. In addition, the system is backward-compatible through the use of the debinder, with all materials previously supported including 17-4PH stainless steel, 4140 low alloy steel, H13 tool steel, and copper.

The Studio System 2 is available through an upgrade for all existing Studio System customers.
