CBN HIGH PRODUCTION GRINDING CENTER
Milldale, CT February 15, 2006 ...MAX -TEK, LLC has introduced the AGC 100 Automatic Grinding Center, the only two axis (X/Z) grinding center using plated and vitrified CBN wheels for superabrasive high production applications such as chucking of small components: variable vane journals, gear facing, o-ring and snap ring grooving and small diameter compressor and turbine wheel contouring among others. The AGC 100 utilizes a high tensile Meehanite one piece massive base and bed for high rigidity and superior vibration dampening for efficient superabrasive grinding and work spindle performance. The machine features a compact, easily accessible part loading area for setup and wheel exchange, Z and X Axis linear guideways mounted on precision ground bed for smooth and accurate travel and machining motion. The 0-6000 RPM precision work spindle is powered by Fanuc direct drive motor with position orientation capability. The water cooled direct drive grinding spindle is available in 1800-11000 RPM, 5 - 12 HP to suit varying application requirements. Other features include: MAX –TEK® touch screen operator panel with over-ride switches and function selector, X Axis Heidenhain Scale feedback, hydraulic or pneumatic part clamping up to 6” chuck size, and a central lubrication system for automtatic lubrication to all slide ways and ball screws. Approximate machine footprint: length: 92” depth: 67” height: 70” and weight: 7900 lbs.
