Teknics ZeroClamp USA introduces its Zerolox XP 80Z Zero Point Workholding Automation Console made in Germany. The Zerolox Console provides a universal interface that allows quick precision positioning in seconds for clamping 5 axis self-centering vises, pallets, and workpieces on 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines. Its non-wearing technology ensures high reliability. The pneumatic console comes ready to be used either manually or with cobot/robot automation.
The ZeroClamp Zerolox Zero Point Automation console is the only Zero Point product like it on the market today. It is superior both in repeatability and clamping force to single Zero Point workholding units having only 1 clamping stud with an orientation pin or slot. In addition to manual mechanical plate Zero Point clamping systems using 4 V-notched studs on a 52/96 mm spacing which requires clearance in multiple geometric planes.
ZeroClamp’s patented Zero Point center cone technology offers the highest rigidity and accuracy of 2.5 µm (0.0001 in.) repeatability. Thermal growth is always at the center point of the console important for accurate 5 axis machining and maintaining the center of the tool point and axis of rotation.
The 4 integrated 90 mm Zero Point clamping units provide high clamping forces of 50,000 N, 50 kN, 11,240 lb., the highest clamping forces available in the industry with over 5.5 tons.
Its compact low profile design is only 40 mm high by 160 mm square (1.57 X 6.3 in.2) and 90-deg. indexing X 4 lets you rotate for your 2nd operation or sides 4 & 5.
The automation console can be used with ZeroClamp’s 5 axis self-centering automation ZeroVise M 80/120A, up to 203mm/ 8” Sq. pallets, fixtures, direct part clamping, dovetail fixtures, and 52/96 mm mounting pattern on compatible 5 axis vises with adapter plate.
Pneumatically actuated with 90 PSI required only to unlock the console. Pneumatic porting for automation on the back of the console or by a robot or manual operation with an air gun into the 2 side ports for open, close, and air pressure differential sensing of clamped confirmation comes as standard.
No rotary unions or airlines are required that can get tangled up on 5 axis CNC’s, operates without a constant air supply. The compact design can be mounted to your 5 axis CNC with or without a riser, 4 and 5 axis rotary tables, tombstones, trunnions, and all automation systems. Ideal for automation with cobot/robot and as a machine table automation interface.
The complimentary ZeroClamp manually actuated 5 axis self–centering ZeroVise’s M80/120A are available in 80 or 120 mm wide sizes and come with 4 integrated size 90 Zero Point clamping studs. The vises can be exchanged manually in seconds with the ZeroLox and for automation comes ready to accommodate a simple non-pneumatic robot gripper. The vises are completely sealed self-cleaning, chip repelling design eliminating cutting chips and coolant from collecting and entering inside. This provides a low cleaning effort when exchanging parts and eliminates coolant dripping out of the vises while they are out of the machine. They are compact, low weight ideal for cobots/robots, and one size for all clamping ranges up to 8.2-in. wide parts. By reversing the jaws and changing the 2 quick-change jaw positions the vise length does not increase. This allows the use of short tooling providing higher feed rates, superior surface finishes, and optimal part access. Available with many quick change interchangeable jaw options.
