Mid Span Slit & Ring Tool
Description
The Mid Span Slit & Ring Tool MS-446 consists of four precision slitting grooves and four precision ring grooves. It was designed to provide easy access to the interior optical fibers of AFL’s Heavy Duty OSP MicroCore cables and other thick-walled 8.7 to 14.6 mm diameter jackets.
One side of the tools performs radial/ring cuts, and the other slits the cable jacket open without damaging the fibers inside. Additionally, other features include a compact design and a line on top of the unit to indicate the position of the blade for accurate slitting and ringing.
The blades are replaceable and will last for approximately 5,000 cuts.
