Description
Able to be opened or closed by a single operator in less than one minute, the large Rapid Opening Closure (ROC) provides internal access to pipelines and any type of pressure vessel for critical service and maintenance activities and can be installed on both horizontal and vertical vessels.
The ease of operation is combined with a high level of security and operator safety, which includes a pressure warning device that is interlocked to the ROC operating mechanism preventing the door from being opened until the vessel has been completely depressurized. Consequently, the ROC reduces pressure vessel downtime and associated lost production to an absolute minimum, resulting in more efficient utilization of both plant and labor.
Pipeline Engineering uses Finite Element Analysis design methodology to calculate optimum material sizes and weights for all key components ensuring the most economical design solutions are achieved. This is particularly important for large ROC sizes, which can be designed to suit customer-specific designs, including intermediate design pressures rather than follow generic standard flange full pressure class 600#, 900#, 1500#, etc.
