TG GripSert Workholding Inserts

TG GripSert Workholding Inserts are designed for ultra-low profile clamping with no dovetail workpiece preparation. With only 3500 μm (3.5 mm) of clamp surface needed to securely hold the workpiece, the inserts are ideal for 5-axis machining operations.

Because of the geometry of the grippers, the inserts create a pull-down effect that prevents any lifting of the workpiece while clamping. These triangular grippers feature two rows of teeth at different angles to maximize the pull-down effect and prevent lifting of the workpiece.  The serrations are designed for steel, hardened steel/titanium, and aluminum workpieces.

The inserts offer many advantages over traditional clamping systems, including exceptional clamping stability, no need for pre-machining or dovetailing workpieces, vibration dampening, and allowing for very secure holding at lower clamping forces to avoid deforming the workpiece. This results in a higher cutting rate and less waste of materials than traditional clamping systems.
