AVATOUR is the world’s first and only commercially-available remote presence platform. Using inexpensive, off-the-shelf hardware, it combines live 360-deg. video with multiparty communication to deliver a new category of remote real-time interaction. AVATOUR can be deployed anywhere there’s a decent internet connection, requiring very little training or expertise.
Avatour is a remote presence technology that combines 360° video with avatar-based presence and audio chat in real-time. The host uses a 360-deg. camera attached to an Android mobile device in order to connect live via the Avatour platform in the cloud to multiple guests located anywhere in the world. Up to five guests from anywhere in the world can use a VR headset, any mobile device or desktop to join in at the host’s location.
How it Works:
- You’ll need a low-cost 360° camera, along with a selfie stick and audio headset. These tools enable you to give live virtual tours while speaking directly with your remote guests.
- Using the AVATOUR Host app on your smartphone or tablet, schedule a time for clients and participants to meet. They receive calendar invites.
- Guests can attend using any modern web browser or VR headset for a fully immersive experience. At the meeting time, up to 5 guests from anywhere in the world can join you virtually, using either a VR headset or any mobile device or desktop.
- All users can communicate with each other, as well as with real-world meeting hosts while seeing the full 360-deg. view of the real captured space.
